Hello there!
I'm Laura! 👋 Born and raised in Manitoba. Been sewing since high school. I love crafts and handmade items. Started with sketching, then to sewing clothes. Learned crochet, cross stitching and knitting and now have been bitten by the bag making and quilting bug. This is one infection I enjoy, although my housemates - not so much! 😂

I work in a furniture store and noticed that there were boxes of fabric samples that were just going to be thrown in the garbage, as they were for discontinued fabrics. These are essentially new material so I thought, what can I make with them so that they do not just go straight to the landfill. Then the idea to make bags came to me. I have expanded from just bags to hats, glass cases and have plans to make cushion covers.
What is so special about these items is that they are one-of-a-kind. Once I use the sample, there will not be another. Also, as samples range in size from 3” square to 17” square, it also impacts what can be made.
You will also see purse charms and key chains made from the very small leather samples too. I use up my bits of lining in making small pouches and card wallets. At times, I recycle clothing into the straps, linings or even bags themselves.
As far as bag styles, most are ideas gleaned from Pinterest and my own ideas. Others are patterns from actual designers. Those are very specifically marked so that you can go and check them out.
I am available for custom orders. We'll work together to select the colours and patterns that work for you.
I hope you enjoy looking at my projects and find something that works for you. I do attend craft sales throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled for me. I will let you know where I will be on my Events Page.
